Easter...Still Catching Up!

So I am still trying to get up on the whole blog thing but life is still insane. Our roommate Jeramie should be completely out of our house by today! I'm excited for it to be just Dustin and I here! It's our very first house together, so it's kinda special. Anyhow, for Easter Sunday we went to Tucson, like every year we spent it with Uncle Matt & Aunt Fran! We love you guys! This year we got there a bit late, and everyone already started without us...oh well! Breakfast was amazing as always and we got to see how big everyone's kids are getting these days! We hung out for a few hours with everyone, had an Easter egg hunt and just chilled. Katrina and I were starving for lunch so her, I and Brinley ran out. Dustin got a Grinder from Eegees (the best place ever) and we opted for BK! After lunch we coaxed Brinley into trying her Flower Girl dress on (which she didn't want any part of)...she said it was too big! Clearly it was too large, but that's why she needed to try it on. Aunt Fran has been amazing and offered to make the little girls dresses....which is easy for her in a sense because Brinley and Kaitlyn are the same size! Brinley made a comment about how her dress didn't look like a princess dress and that it wasn't beautiful! Little stinker...I know she will love it when it's all done!

We went home and hung out at the apartment with the girls and off to be in time for dreaded work in the morning. Unfortunately, Dustin was up sick all night with what seemed as the stomach flu! ICK!! He missed work Monday and Tuesday and went back on Wednesday still feeling crummy. Nobody else got sick so we were thinking it was food poisoning! Maybe from the oh so good Eegees....oh no! I don't understand how much men are such BABIES when it comes to being sick! I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs everytime my phone rang, which was every 10-15 minutes that he was home sick! He says "I NEED YOU", "come home please", "I'm dying". "Help me"! Over and over and over again....he wanted me to up and abandon my job so I could go home and give him some support....I asked if he wanted me to come hold his hair back (sarcastically of course, his hair is short)! So for about 8 hours on both Monday and Tuesday I got about a million calls and texts from Dustin pleading for me to head home....just take the day off he says! At that point I literally wanted to shut my phone off and ignore him! I even went as far as sending his brother over to check on him for fear he was really dying! haha. I got home that night and was called upon immediately. He wanted me to sit with him....when I did he said he felt better already! What a man! haha

My Man....

I thought I would blog about how hard of a worker my fiancé is! He’s always busting his butt at work and LOVES his job! He finally has found a career that he wants to be at for a very long time and I’m proud of him! He makes me happy and yesterday when he emailed me pictures of the project he’s solely working on; I had to post about it! He works for and aerospace company that rebuilds parts from planes, engines, etc. He has been telling me what’s he’s doing at work and constantly saying “he’s tired”…..I never realized it until I got the pictures! I now realize that my job compared to his is mindless and he’s awesome! I sit in a desk for 8 hours on the phone ALL DAY LONG helping patients and parents with sick babies; and I complain I’m sooo tired!

Dustin you are great at what you do and I’m happy I have a handy man like you in my life! Dustin had his review yesterday and got a $1 raise (which is awesome) and was told that his review was the best the manager has given in such a short amount of time! He was told he is very smart in the work he does for the age he is! I love all the good things he was told yesterday! Finally, he’s being recognized! Woo hoo!!! Below are the photos he sent me…impressive (he’s had to run copper wires through those HUGE metal pipes from outside the building to the inside…..I couldn’t do that; Good thing he’s the FABRICATOR!!! I think I know what all this is about below...but really I have NO IDEA...just that inside those pipes are copper wires (not sure what they are used for)! haha

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

This weekend was my birthday and what better way to spend it than with friends and family! Friday Dustin and I just stayed home and hung out with Tanya…we watched movies and laughed! Saturday we got up late, milled around the house and then I went to Tanya’s and hung out for a bit (she borrowed Chowski for the night so I had to pick her and the ice chest up!) I woke up with a massive headache that I didn’t appreciate! It continued throughout the day and into the evening! Dustin & Tanya coordinated a BBQ/Birthday Party for me and had a good turn out! Unfortunately only my Uncle Matt was the only family member to attend but we sure had a good time! Thanks for coming Uncle! Dustin asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told him flowers! Every guest for the party brought a potted flower/plant and a side dish! We supplied the meat and alcohol! It was a good turn out! The night ended about 2am or so and since I still had a headache I only had one drink! Thank goodness I didn’t have a hangover like Dustin did…..he slept on the bathroom floor! Haha

Sunday we got up and hung out with Jeramie and Uncle for a bit then Dustin’s dad and Merrie came over and we all went to D’s Grandma’s house. She just got married and moved about a block away from her house, so everyone we were recruited to move furniture! We of course got off with some good items from Darlene as well so that was nice of her! I was sort of upset at Dustin because it was my birthday and I didn’t think we were going to spend all day moving, but things turned out well. We got home about 5pm or so and then off to Lowe’s we went! Dustin bought me more flowers for the yard and potting soil! We went home and planted flowers and just hung out! We are both so proud of the flower bed…Dustin even made the comment: “Look at us go babe…we are gardening together! A couple who gardens together stays together”! He’s so funny!
After we planted them all....oh so pretty! The VERY PRETTY Hibiscus Dustin's dad, Bob & Merrie got me! I love it! The Grape Vine that Michael (Dustin's Brother) thought of getting, he told the people he wanted the most ANNOYING plant ever! This bad boy will grow 20-25 feet a year! I also love it! The two large pots on the end are the ones I bought with the birthday money Uncle Matt gave me (Thank you)! Also below is my most favorite flower of all time...the Gerbera Daisies...can't forget them! We made our way in to the house after standing across the street looking at our good work! An elderly couple was walking by and stopped to admire our yard with us! Dustin and I were happy! Bob & Betty were nice, thanks to them for lifting our yard work spirits! Haha. We had Chili Dogs for dinner and played Jenga for the rest of the night! It was sooo fun! I think we may play today!
Jeramie, our roommate for a few weeks finally closed on his house so he will be moving out soon….we are excited for you J! Looking forward to seeing the new place! I’m sure Junior (his dog) will love to get the heck away from Thor! So things are coming together for Dustin and I and we can’t be happier!
