Happy 4th of July!!!

So as like every 4th, we headed up to Show Low for some relaxation! Wednesday night was spent cleaning the house and running around town trying to make sure we had everything we needed! This time, T had volunteered to drive, so we can save money on gas! Well everything was loaded and ready to go so off we went! The anticipation of actually getting out of town for a good amount of time I think was making us all happy! I was soooooo ready to get out of the heat and the valley!

We got to Show Low around 9:30pm on Thursday and was so excited for the parade the next morning. Don’t ask me why I get so giddy about the 4th of July and the parade. I think because it’s a tradition. I have never missed a 4th of July at home…EVER! The best part about it is that this is one of my favorite holidays and next year we will be getting married! So happy! This is me happy and stoked for the parade! Even wearing some festive red!

The parade was a lot of fun, a bit warm, and actually sad because a lady in the parade along with her child were killed at the start of the parade. May we keep them and the family in all of our prayers.

Dustin's first SL parade! I was so excited...hope he was!

Usually, the floats are kind of lame but this year there were a lot of good ones! However, I was a bit embarrassed a few times after noticing a few things….hopefully I can find the pictures! The theme this year was “Remember When”….so the floats were done accordingly. There was a SL school district float (for whatever reason)…and as it went by I noticed there was a sign on the back of the bus that said “Unitd we stand” …..YES…the “E” was missing! Of all floats to miss a stinkin’ letter, it had to be the very school district in which I got my HS Diploma! That was only the first thing! The second mistake we saw was the SL All Stars…their float read “SL ALL STARRS”….yes….2 “R’s”. It makes you wonder!

Anyhow, aside from all that…we had a lot of fun. The “big” kids were having more fun wrestling for the candy than the little kids. Brinley had the right idea when she just stood on the sidewalk waiting for the big kids to hand her the candy they had picked up! She made out pretty good!

My favorites about this years parade:
The mini UPS truck…it was sooo cute!
The McDonald’s Float which was a Ranger…..whom which I couldn’t remember his name…I thought it was Donald…but NO Donald McDonald it is NOT.

The RSC float! It was by far the BEST one….It had to have been Nicole’s hard work! It made me tear up!

The little kids did such an awesome job! It was great!
How excited Brinley, Jake, Aadyson, Maddison were….Daegan wasn’t too impressed! The little things remind me how lucky we are to have such an awesome country to live in! After the parade we had a BBQ….oh how we all love BBQ’s!

After the group made the walk from K's house to the High School...pictures were definitely in order before the FIREWORKS took place!

FIREWORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday a carload of us went Antique shopping…or lack there of! It started to pour on us at the 2nd stop! But that didn’t stop us…we had fun laughing and running around! We were all about to pass out from starvation ha-ha (not really)! Wendy’s hit the spot!

Dustin was just DYING to go to the Races so off we went…against my will! I think I have only been to THUNDER RACEWAY once or twice…but it made my night when I saw how ecstatic and thrilled Dustin was to be there! Here are a few pictures! I have to admit it was pretty fun and I had a good time!
Overall, it was a nice relaxing, belly filling, laughter filled, cool and eventful weekend! I can’t wait to do it all in a year when both our families are here to enjoy us getting married! WOOT WOOT!!!
The dogs had a great weekend of running loose in my parent's back yard....look how pooped they are:
